David Spaulding has deep roots in Cleveland County having grown up in northeast Cleveland County. He attended Robinson School where he met his wife, Mary. They have been married for 49 years.
David has lived on the family homestead for 50 years. His father was in the auto salvage business and David followed his footsteps owning and operating S&S Auto Salvage on north porter. His dad and mom were involved in 4-H and so was he and his sister, and that tradition has continued with his children and now his grandchildren active in 4-H.
The family has often volunteered with the county fair, helping with the auctioneer event each year.
David was encouraged by friends to run for the Cleveland Count Fair Board and was elected in 2022.
“I look forward to working behind the scenes and serving the community,” David said.
David is no stranger to volunteer work, having served on his church board and in other capacities, but said he looks forward to learning more about the nuts and bolts of putting on a county fair.
